Reading Assistant for Visually Impaired (RAVI)
Reading Assistant for Visually Impaired (RAVI) project is funded by Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Govt. of India (GoI). The main objective of the project is to make Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) eBooks accessible for persons with visual impairment. It covers the following three aspects -
- Navigating and accessing complex equations that is embedded in the text in a comprehensible manner
- Exploring automatic/semi-automatic generation of text that needs to be augmented for describing a diagram to the visually impaired
- Issues related to access of Indian language material using screen readers on platforms like Android.

This is a research paper discussion group of student, staff and faculty at Indian Institute of Technology Delhi.
we have weekly discussions on Tuesday from 02:00 - 03:00 PM in SIT 113. The focus area of the discussions are "Software Applications Towards Assistive Technologies for Persons with Visual Impairment." This is an interdisciplinary area of research composed of Human Computer Interaction, Document Analysis, Image Processing, Computer Vision, and Natural Language Processing.

Inclusive STEM (I-Stem)
Inclusive Stem (I-Stem) is a group of young persons who are blind or visually impaired from India pursuing Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education and careers. The group aims to be the leading self-advocacy group focused on changing the mindset, the resource availability and opportunities for persons with blindness and visually impaired to pursue STEM education and careers in India.
