Air pollution is one of the biggest concerns faced by developing countries like India and the world at large. Kolkata, the state capital of West Bengal (India), sees critical air pollution levels. We present a new Particulate Matter (PM) dataset for Kolkata, which contains PM data recorded over three seasons from March 2023 to January 2024 over an area spanning 160 square kms. The data has been collected using static and vehicle-mounted IoT sensors, designed in IITD incubated startup Aerogram and built accordingly. The deployment is supported by Environment Defense Fund (EDF) in collaboration with the schools / colleges of Kolkata and the West Bengal Transport Corporation (WBTC) buses with permission from the West Bengal Ministry of Transport. The dataset has been calibrated with the data over the same period obtained from the pre-existing static sensors, maintained by Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), which the buses pass by. The correlations between our static and mobile sensors have also been found to be excellent. Hence we release this dataset.
